Immortals

Rating:6.5/10

Immortals defiantly tried to piggy back of the idea/success of 300. Now the film was okay, good action scenes. But the plot was not executed well. The first half of the film things are jumping all over the place, and moves so fast it that you stat to lose interest. If you want great fighting, sci-fi, blood, gore and to see a lot of Freida Pinto then you will be entertained by the movie. Its meant to entertain not captivate you. Where I think 300 did both.

Recommendation: This is probably best seen on the big screen but worth seeing at home as well. If you like action movies see it, or if you are like me and saw the name Freida Pinto it is a no brainer.

Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1

If you think I’m harsh watch this video by Lacy Green, on how Twilight starts are horrible role models and promotes sexism etc..

Rating:5/10

Hmmmmmm ok being a fan of True Blood influences my dislike for Twilight in general. Now this is the best movie of the three so far but that still does not make it a good movie. The plot was weak to me, I am sure it was better in the book but it did not translate well into a movie. Bella was basically sick/pregnant the whole time and Edward just went from being happy to mad and mad to happy about the baby. And the one fight scene was just like kids slapping themselves around. No real fighting, blood , death etc. In fact there is no real violence in any of the Twilight movies and with all these vampires and werewolves someones needs to die. I didn’t fall asleep so that’s good, and I am pissed in a obvious trick to make more money they split the final movie into 2. They could have cut out the dull moments and combined both movies to prob make a respectable movie. But I understand the business of it, if you are going to have a bunch of teen girls dying to see the movie regardless of the crappyness then why not make as many as you can.

Recommendation: If you are a teen girl you have already seen this movie, but if you haven’t , its not worth the hype or your time. Now if you have a gf or a girl you like think twice about taking her because she will compare you to the guys on the screen so bulk up , shop at Abercrombie&Fitch and gel up your hair before you go haha. Just wait til it comes out on tv or something.

Hunger Games

Hunger Games is a movie coming out in March that is based off of a 3 book series. It is a popular young adult book. The teen love drama has been compared to Twilight but to me has more realness and purpose to it. This book is extremely violent and distubing at times, making it a natural R rated movie. Of coarse to fit in the teen viewers it will be pg-13 and watered down.

After reading all three novels in 4 days I have become extremely excited for the movie to come out. Some of the character choices don’t fit the book but maybe with makeup and good acting it will work . The movie will be about a girl named Katniss who is from a poor district. In each district one boy and one girl each year is picked to enter the Hunger Games. Where they will fight each other till the death on TV for the Capitol’s entertainment and punishment to the 12 districts for their uprising many years before. Lucky for her she does illegal hunting to feed her family so she goes into the games will survival skills and the ability to hunt and kill. I suggest reading the books , though it may make the movie pale in comparison.

Chronicle

Let me start by saying I typically dislike film it yourself movies (Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield etc.) But this new up coming movie looks like they did it right. Chronicle its about 3 teens who obtain super powers. They film each other doing what most teens would do if they could move things with their minds. Then of coarse one turns evil and things get interesting. I love movies about super powers and what not so I was naturally drawn to this trailer, but I Chronicle has the potential to be a great film , can not wait to see it.

Three Musketeers, Tower Heist Puss In Boots, Rum Diaries

I had planned on viewing and reviewing these movies. After hearing comments and negative remakes from several people who watched them I decided not to waste my time and money. I had a feeling Three musketeers would suck but I had high hopes for Tower Heist.

Three Musketeers: Heard it could be the worst movie of 2011, poorly done, poor acting and seemed rushed. Not to mention horrible advertising campaign, but maybe that’s a good thing stopped people from even know about this movie.

Tower Heist: It is not funny at all. You already know the plot so with no real comedy its just boring. Plus not enough Eddie Murphy.

Puss In Boots: Now I did not hear that many negative things about it just that is so-so. If I’m going to watch a animated movie and pay for it, it is going to have to be good aka Shrek.

Rum Diaries : Heard this sucked as well lol.

In Time

Rating:6/10

I was extremely excited for this movie to come out. Justin Timberlake is really making a name for him self as an actor(Friends with Benefits, Social Network, voice overs, and SNL skits). The concept is original and refreshing in today’s world of remakes, squeals , and re-use of ideas. This movie is about society where no one ages past the age of 25 and once you hit 25 you clock starts ticking. You get 1 year worth of time and it is used as currency. The more you work the more time you get to live. With the occupy movement going on this movie could have piggy backed off that wave and been hugely successful. This movie mimics today’s society where very few posses all the time(money) and the majority do all the hard work and live day to day where any day can be their last.

MoneyBall

Rating: 7.5/10

Could this be Brad Pitt’s Jerry Maguire? No, it wasn’t a classic, but it was definitely a good movie. You do not need to know anything about baseball or the team this is based off to enjoy it. They were bold in casting Jonah Hill in a serious role and even Brad Pitt in a non-action movie or even a movie where he does not take his shirt off. However, both these actors performed well and

The Avengers’ trailer is finally here. I’m excited for this movie even though I don’t think it will live up to its hype. It will just be nice to see it all come together.

50/50

Rating: 8/10

50/50

I am a little biased on this one because I heard so many good things about the movie before I saw it. It has been really hyped up for some time and rightfully so. Based on true events by the screenwriter this movie delivers with very few dull moments. This is Seth Rogen’s best role to date, he was funny without being obnoxious and when it was time to be serious, it was very convincing. This movie is unique because it crosses two genres that rarely come together in a movie: sad and comedic.

what's your number

If you’ve ever seen a romantic comedy, then you have already seen this movie. It was not a horrible movie by any means. In fact, I laughed several times. The movie was just as predictable as any romantic comedy. Girl wants love of her life, love of

Up Coming Marvel Movies....

Iron Man3: If you’re a Marvel fan like I am, you will be excited to hear about the third film in this series coming out. As long as its more like Iron Man 1 and Iron Man II, it should be a great film. Set to be released in May of 2013.

Thor 2: I wasn’t impressed with the first one, but Thor is my favorite marvel character so i hope this one will be better. As of right now, it’s not a done deal but i assume this will go through.

Ant-Man: This is only a rumor, but I have no clue why, one of the least interesting Avengers. Black Panther deserves a movie way before Ant-Man.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Based of a novel from 1969 and 2008 superheros who live in a alternate future fight bad guys and such. Deals more with space travel and such. This movie has promise so I will definitely keep my ear out for this one.

The Inhumans: They are super hero’s created by science, and in the comics have ties with the avengers. So these two movies could eventually turn into a film bringing both hero groups together.

Drive

Rating: 6/10

Drive

I was speechless after watching this movie and I found it hard to decide if that was a good or bad thing. The first hour or so of this movie will be extremely boring and uneventful if you’re expecting action, car chases and sex appeal. Very few words are spoken and I mean it; they make  Ryan Gosling seem mute in this movie. Gosling’s lack of talking makes the movie awkward at times. From 0-60 minutes into the movie, people were leaving
